Pre-employment & Periodic Medicals
Our doctors and allied health are experienced in undertaking employment medicals across most industries. Medicals can generally be booked with short lead times. If you don’t have medical an assessment of your own, we have in-house medicals which can be tailored to your needs.
Our doctors are skilled in the following assessments:
Pre-employment medicals
Respiratory Health Surveillance for Qld Coal and Mineral Mines and Quarries
Rail Safety Medicals including Cat 1, 2 and 3
Commercial Driving Assessments including Fatigue Management Medicals (TruckSafe) and Dangerous Goods Medicals
Insurance Medicals
Visa medicals with travel vaccinations (e.g. travel to PNG)
AMSA medicals (medical examination of seafarers)
Services can include any of these components:
Functional capacity evaluations (FCE)
Complex musculoskeletal assessments
Urine Drug and Alcohol Screen
Breath Alcohol Screen
Spirometry – including RSHQ standard for mining
Audiometry – completed in sound proof booths

Coal Mine Worker and Mineral Mines and Quarries Assessments
Our doctors are Examining Medical Officers (EMOs) who can complete Coal and MMQ assessments. We also have a registered Supervising Doctor (AMA) who can oversee/finalise the. medicals on site. This allows for efficient completion of the medical process.
Medical Review Officers (MRO)
We also have doctors who are certified MRO’s and can assist you with your Alcohol and Other drugs policies, interpret results of GCMS/LCMS laboratory confirmatory testing and provide guidance with managing these results.

Injury Management
The doctors and allied health practitioners at TSMP are experienced in work injury management where the philosophy of “stay at work” and “return to work” is central in their clinical management of injured employees.
We work within the WorkCover Queensland framework and utilise their standard documentation. We are also flexible with using internal suitable duties plans and other documentation.
Our doctors prefer to work as a team with the employee and employer with timely communication and through evidence-based clinical management to ensure a positive result for everyone. We have an in-house physiotherapist who can assist with rehabilitation and networks of exercise physiologists and occupational therapists who can provide input and assistance when necessary.
Workplace Health
Skin Cancer Checks
Our doctors are qualified to complete whole body skin checks and advise on appropriate management. Occupational and lifetime exposure to the sun increases the risk of skin cancer many fold. Yearly skin checks can decrease the morbidity associated with developing skin cancer by allowing early intervention.
On-site Influenza and Covid Vaccination Programs
If you are concerned about the impact on influenza on the health of your employees and the productivity of your company, then an influenza vaccination program with TSMP is a convenient way minimise disruptions, protect productivity and invest in the health and wellbeing of your staff. Vaccinating your employees against influenza has shown to be cost effective as employees remaining healthier, reducing absenteeism and increasing productivity.
Other Vaccinations
If other occupational risks exist we can also facilitate other vaccine programs. Examples include but are not limited to Q fever, rabies, hepatitis A and B, typhoid, tetanus and whooping cough. See The Travel Clinic for further information
Video Consultations
If you have a busy schedule at your office or are travelling out-of-town then video consultations are available with our doctors. The video consult offers you medical care where you need it and can be conducted from your office or home on your desktop computer, or travelling using a mobile device such as laptop or smart phone/tablet.
